UDEC Computer Services Inc. was founded in 1984 as a privately owned Canadian company. Initially, UDEC's mandate was to provide high quality third party service and warranty repair for computer peripherals and controllers.

In 2008 UDEC merged with CYCOM Canada (established in 1982) CYCOM is one of the primary service management providers for warranty and post warranty IT services for multi vendor platforms in Canada namely IBM, HP, LEXMARK, Lenovo, Dell, SUN, Microsoft, INTEL, EMC', Cisco and 3Com.

CYCOM is the leading mobile computing solutions provider to the health industries.

In 1993 UDEC purchased a well known Markham-based, computer module repair and exchange company CMX International with an established customer base across Canada and the USA. This highly sophisticated computer repair facility and the expert technical staff also merged with UDEC.

In 1990 UDEC purchased the field service operations of Genamation Inc., a medium-sized 16 year old Canadian computer distributor. Genamation's existing field service and technical staff merged with UDEC.
